Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, named after the late Prime Minister Shri. Rajiv Gandhi, run by the Government of Kerala, started functioning in 1991. The government has started this institution in order to make it the center of post graduation and research. College is part of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala.
The Institute offers a three-year master's degree in computer applications, since 2001. The Department currently operates in the electronics unit. The department has a well-equipped computer lab network with the latest computer systems and software packages that allow students to meet the challenges in the IT industry.
Commissariat entrance examinations (CEE), Kerala conducts entrance exams for admission to MCA, which is produced through a single window system centralized the process of removing (CAP).
