GDC Europe welcomes new members to the Council before 2015 show
As the industry prepares for the GDC Europe, show organizers are pleased to announce that a pair of games industry veterans have joined the Advisory Board of the event and the main Independent Games Summit to help curriculum and panel sessions at this year's Conference in Cologne, Germany, alongside the Gamescom trade fair.
GDC Europe Advisory Board, which includes game industry notables such as Rovio of Katharina Hautz, CD Projekt Red Bartlomiej Gaweł, creative director Lars Gustavsson, DICE and Rocksteady Studios ' David Hego, is very pleased to welcome our newest member sa: Kalypso Media Group Managing Director Stefan Marcinek worldwide.
Stefan Marcinek has also worked in the gaming industry as a freelance editor in 1998. From 2000 to 2001, he was the editor-in-Chief of the german headquarters of Gameloft, and after a short adventure as PR manager opened the indie-focused editor behave interactively in 2003. In august 2006, he and his business partner founded Kalypso Media.
Since then, Calypso has become one of the world's leading independent publisher and developer of games, best known for Tropico 3-5, Patrician, Port Royale, Dungeons, the Rise of Venice, Grand Ages and many other titles. Kalypso Media is also very strong distribution overall by Kalypso Media Digital Digital Ltd. and its subsidiary public on mobile devices through Mobile Kalypso Media. Kalypso Media also owns three development studios-Realmforge Studios GmbH, Gaming Minds Studios GmbH and Skilltree Studios GmbH-and works with several leading independent developers.
The Conference organizers are equally excited to welcome the games industry writer Kitty Calis at GDC Europe Council ranks Indie Games Summit, where he will help the Summit sessions schedule along with friction Grip and Thomas L. B. Korsgaard Copenhagen game collective.
A jack-of-all-trades, Calis took part and origin of many community initiatives, such as a local Picnic, Utrecht multiplayer Indie Meetups, film projections, curation of unity, as well as events such as the Conference of Dutch control and Game Prizes.
It's now in charge of marketing and PR for speedrunning & action platformer Henk, and co-developed the small games you (probably) haven't heard of Fold as, Microdoctor, and verbal adventure award. Calis also spent four years as editor, and project manager of the publication of the Magazine industry's control.
GDC Europe organizers are delighted to welcome these professionals for the team in advance of the 2015 Conference, which will take place on 3-4 august, at the Cologne Congress-Centrum Ost in Cologne, Germany. Co-located with the GDC Europe European gamescom 2015 will continue providing pan-European perspective was essential to the development of games and to highlight business trends across the continent.
